NEW Simply Shetland DK: 20g mini-skeins - Gean
This is one of four bespoke shades resulting from a partnership with a commercial dye mill in southern Scotland. These have been carefully selected and on our new Haar DK base yarn. Spun from the 2019 Fleece Clip, this yarn has been worsted spun giving a more drapey feel than our usual wool-spun and fluffy yarn, and comes in at 260m per 100g.
This is a dusky dark red shade with flecks of the base colour through it. It would sit well next to any of our undyed base shades or any of the other 100g or mini-skeins.
Wild Cherry (prunus avium), or Gean is a Scottish native tree with white flowers April - May. Its leaves turn a stunning red and yellow in autumn. Wild cherry trees bear deep, red cherries which attract the wildlife. It's a tree which is abundant in local hedgerows.

Please note that this yarn will require a cold wash at the project blocking stage as a little dye-bleed might otherwise occur.
